Refurbishment of Existing Estate House

Compass Building successfully completed this project for a repeat business client in the Spring of 2023. Prior to renovation the building had been stripped out and had spent its latter years as a farmyard store. The building is Grade C listed and as such careful consideration had to be given to preserving, maintaining and in some cases replicating the details that were deemed to be important to the buildings character and vernacular.

Effectively the roof was removed and the slates set aside for reuse as the whole building was brought back to the bare masonry walls. Following roof reconstruction the whole building was framed and insulated to an exceptionally high standard. A biomass heating system was preferred by the client which generates both heat and hot water for the property. The heating strategy sees underfloor heating being utilised in a biscuit screed on the ground floor with radiators preferred on the first floor. The new accommodation layout provided for:-

Ground Floor

Porch
Living/Dining Rom
Hall/Entrance
Bedroom with En-Suite

First Floor

2 Bedrooms with En-Suites
Landing/Study Area

The project completed on time and budget and so well was it received by the client that in the intervening period Compass have been favoured with several further related commissions.
