Compass Building are celebrating a further successful project completion for the Highland Council following another textbook delivery on what was one of our most challenging commissions during 2025.
As a forerunner to a future larger project the local authority had identified a need to relocate the existing kitchen and canteen to temporary accommodation. The client had entered into a separate purchase agreement with a modular building provider but required to appoint a principal contractor to co-ordinate and manage the works.
Our scope therefore comprised the site clearance, foundation installation, site servicing including sewage pumping station, lift planning and fit out completion of the modular units.
Contracts Manager Gary Tuach reflected that throughout the entire duration of the project Compass had enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the school and the local residents. The programme had been particularly demanding as we had a specific date to meet, which tied in with an extraordinary school closure to enable the cabins to be safely lifted and landed in position.
In addition to being delivered on time and accident free, the project also achieved an excellent rating during a site audit by members of the independent Considerate Constructors Scheme.
