Cromlet Invergordon

Autumn 2024 saw the welcome delivery of a further 40 affordable dwellings for The Highland Council in Easter Ross and nudged the organisation closer to the milestone of delivering 1000 affordable dwellings since the commencement of operations.

At the time of writing Compass are enjoying a particularly active spell in Ross-shire with other commissions in the area including warehousing for Whyte and Mackay, refurbishment works at South Lodge Primary School and further housing at Teandallon, Evanton.

The Cromlet Development has benefitted from excellent teamwork amongst client, contractor and design team as we carefully charted our way through the redevelopment of a former industrial brownfield site. Compass once again demonstrating our credentials in the delivery of large complex ground works/earth movement.

The houses have been constructed to an exceptionally high standard adopting fabric first principles and achieving excellent air tightness ratings, this coupled with the incorporation of Air Source heat pumps as the main energy source should contribute to efficiencies in fuel consumption.

We are delighted to have recently been favoured with a further phase of works, valued at c.£12.5M, at Cromlet which physically gets underway in February 2026.

Many of the lessons learnt and best practice adopted in the prior phase will be redeployed in the latest commission which will ultimately see the delivery of a further 43 properties in this penultimate phase of works as the local authority continues to make strides to positively address the current Highland housing challenge.
