Senior representatives from Compass Building were delighted to attend the annual Considerate Constructors Scheme National Awards in Edinburgh on 22nd April 2026. As regular participants of the Considerate Constructors Scheme we are pleased to report that each of our sites registered last year were all adjudged to be in the excellent category by the independent third party assessors. The highest mark achieved was for the construction of Cairn Cottage, a high quality one-one off dwelling house for a private client, which obtained a 100% score in the <£5m category, earning the project and the team the accolade of Bronze Winner.

A tremendous achievement by the project team who had put a lot of effort into ensuring this project was at all times managed in an exemplary fashion, delivering a first class product for our client whilst also seamlessly integrating our operations with the requirements of the local community.

The CCS Monitor noted within their report that “It is good to note that the Company Values highlighted on the Company Website are fully reflected at Site Level with Project Targets set to encourage improvement. The Site Team maintains very close contact with the Clients and the Construction Phase Plan includes implicit support for the Community: with planned delivery of Social Value throughout the Project. The Project is actively promoting Careers in Construction and is supporting trainees and apprentices that is helping to build the Regional Construction Skills Bank. The Environmental Policies and Procedures are discussed on site and appropriately related environmental targets are set to minimise Waste and Environmental Impact including Carbon Reduction. The approach to Safety on site is noted to being excellent with tight controls and safety guidance.

The Site Welfare facilities are excellent for a Project of this Nature; with Policies in place to generate a ‘very caring and supportive’ working environment with regular Health Education Topics discussed at Toolbox Talks.
