Employees Step up for Charity

Compass Decorative Logomark Section Seperator

The Compass Group were delighted to join a collaboration organised by DM Elite in support of the valuable charitable work being undertaken by the team at Bridge to Bridge, led by local businessman William Gray. Compass have been proud supporters of the Bridge to Bridge event which takes place, annually, in September. The event sees cyclists traverse the Highlands from West to East- leaving from Kyleakin and journeying via Achmore, Achnasheen and Muir of Ord to the finish line under the bridge at North Kessock. So far, this initiative has raised in excess of £376,000 for extremely worthwhile and grateful local charities.

The workplace wellbeing gym session, conceived by Dan Moore, was brought to the business by our Operations Director (and gym member) Paul Cowie.  Paul commented that “this really was a win win scenario as not only were we raising funds for local charities, we were simultaneously promoting the benefits of regular exercise to promote all round fitness and wellbeing – which is an area that we are keen to provide encouragement to all of our employees, promoting the ideals of healthy body and healthy mind”.

15 hardy members of the business turned up on the day to do their bit for charity and of course for themselves. The format for the day was based around circuits combining cardio fitness with strength exercises. The session was led by Dan Moore, owner of DM ELITE, with the most pleasing aspect being that there was no pressure on any individual to move beyond their comfort zone.   Not only did this relaxed atmosphere put many at ease, but it has also, at least for now, given several of  our employees the boost that they needed to engage more regularly with structured exercise to aid their physical and mental wellbeing.

We very much look forward to engaging with similar events in the future whilst also taking the opportunity to wish all organisers, participants, fundraisers and volunteers a very successful event on 12th September 2026.
