The Highland Builder leading the way is celebrating continued contract success following confirmation that the Highland Council have placed the construction of a further affordable housing contract with Compass Building. This latest commission will see the much needed homes constructed on vacant land between St Valery Avenue and The Caledonian Canal.
This latest award represents a quick one-two for Compass, who are leading providers of affordable housing throughout the Highlands, having also recently broken ground on the delivery of 43 no. units at Cromlet Park, Invergordon for the same client.
The Works, located in the Dalneigh area of the Highland Capital, provide for the construction of 8 semi-detached bungalows which are to be formed as an extension to the existing St Valery Park. The construction period is noted as being 52 weeks though Compass are hopeful of improving upon this timescale as they seek to positively support the council in its bid to address the well documented Highland Housing Challenge.
Operations Director, Paul Cowie, noted his pleasure at this most recent, competitively secured award which, coupled with Invergordon and an ongoing development in Broadford, represents 71 affordable homes under construction with further contract awards expected imminently.
Paul said
“The start to the current trading year has been exceptionally buoyant with workload secured already significantly up on the prior trading year with anticipated margin also keeping pace at historical levels. It is particularly pleasing that with our sister company, Orbis Services Limited, providing the plumbing, heating, electrical and renewable installations, many of our clients are favouring this muti-trade directly employed offering – which guarantees consistency of quality, resource and approach”.
