Work Begins on £1.4m Accommodation Project for Abernethy Trust

Compass Decorative Logomark Section Seperator

We are pleased to report our recent success in securing a £1.4m new build accommodation building for the Abernethy Trust. This is a project that we had trailed for some time and one that fits well within our project portfolio. Each year we are keen to provide support and a positive contribution to those organisations that operate within the Third Sector. Past successes have included commissions for L’arche, The Elsie Normington Foundation, Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company, The Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust and Trees for Life……………..to name but a few.

We are delighted to now count the Abernethy Trust amongst our most valued clients. The Trust itself is a Christian charity, with many of its core values resonating with our own leadership team.  Since its inception, the Trust has been providing exciting outdoor adventure experiences, catering for all ages and abilities – a period that now spans for more than 50 years.

This latest phase of development will see the provision of 24 additional bed spaces configured as 2 bed, 3 bed or 5 bedroom family suites. The new single storey building is located around a central courtyard and boasts a covered walkway that provides shelter to each of the facilities suites. Also included within the accommodation is a multi-purpose room/gathering area.

The design solution, conceived by Pend Architects, has sustainability at its heart with key features including Air Source Heat Pumps, extensive utilisation of locally sourced timber linings whilst the roof is to be finished in GreenCoat zinc ( a recycled, secondary use, material).

The project broke ground in June and is scheduled to be handed over to the client in Spring 2027.
