Compass Group Unveil Phase One of Headquarters Transformation

The end of 2023 represented a further significant milestone for the Compass Group as they officially marked the opening of their newly refurbished Highland Headquarters.

Having bought the building in 2021 from former owners Argyll and Sutherland Properties, “The Highland Builder leading the way” immediately embarked on plans to modernise, refurbish and transform their Millburn Road corporate headquarters.

Managing Director, Thom Macleod, noted that both the acquisition and the investment in the much-needed modernisation of the office accommodation represented a resounding vote of confidence in the outlook and future prosperity of the Highland Construction Industry.

Corrie Lodge, occupies a prime real estate spot, adjacent to the Millburn Roundabout on the South Eastern outskirts of the Highland capital and has for decades been synonymous with an exceptionally high standard of construction activity throughout the Districts of the Highlands and Islands, being the headquarters of Construction giant Tulloch from the 1980’s through until 2006.

The Managing Director noted that (with the exception of a brief period from around 2009/10) this had been his second home having been interviewed and subsequently commenced his employment in the building in 1990. Indeed, many notable and successful construction careers have commenced or blossomed from the opportunities conceived from this building.

The works undertaken included the provision of a new reception area, sustainable energy performance improvements (insulation, double glazing, photovoltaic energy generation, low energy devices (led’s) and boiler upgrades), significant investment in IT infrastructure, enhanced (virtual and physical) meeting room facilities, kitchen, canteen and ablution upgrades as well as the wholesale renewal of finishes.

Thom Macleod noted that he had long since felt that any organisations headquarters should say a lot about that business and felt that they now had a headquarters that was commensurate with the high standards of professionalism and quality that has long since been associated with the Compass brand. Reflecting on completion of phase one Thom felt that the best advert for the completed works were the number of unsolicited positive comments that had been received from the general public, whilst several other well represented organisations had sought to make enquiry as to whether there were any office suites available for rent.
